November is Music Fairness Awareness Month, and SoundExchange has been hard at work raising awareness in our artist communities and beyond. Our efforts have brought about a milestone moment in our fight to claim what rightfully belongs to music creators. This month has also been the perfect time to highlight some of our most important policy priorities.
In June, SoundExchange and our friends at musicFIRST celebrated the introduction of the American Music Fairness Act (AMFA-HR 4130) bill. AMFA is the solution to the long-standing injustice that has unfairly benefited big broadcast companies at the expense of artists. If it passed, it would ensure that recording artists finally be paid when their music is played on the radio. To promote the act, SX is asking our artist community to post on social media with the hashtag #musicfairness. Find out how you can show your support for Music Fairness Awareness Month in the artist toolkit linked below. |
